BizSense

Utilizing The Powerful Newsletter Feature Of BizSense

BizSense CRM And ERP has a powerful newsletter feature. Using BizSense you can enhance your relationship with your customers and prospects.

The first step is to create opt-in lists. BizSense emphasizes on the target recipient's convenience. There are certain dos and don'ts to which you have pay attention.

  • Build and use your own opt-in list. Avoid purchasing email lists from third party vendors.
  • Provide a means for your target recipients to opt in and out of mailing lists.
  • Don't add a recipient to the mailing lists without their explicit permission.
  • Include unsubscribe link in each bulk message. The recipient shouldn't have to login to unsubscribe.
  • Act on bounce messages. If a recipient email server says the user doesn't exist a couple of times, unsubscribe the recipient from all your mailing lists.
  • Read and understand the bulk email policies of popular email service providers like Google, Yahoo!, AOL, etc.

Once you install BizSense and save the newsletter settings, create your mailing lists. Note that the mailing lists are one way, meaning you can send email from BizSense to the mailing list subscribers. If the recipient replies to the newsletter those replies are not processed by BizSense.

BizSense offers a WYSIWYG editor to compose HTML emails. While composing the message, be sure to save both HTML and text versions. BizSense sends emails keeping in mind the recipient's preferred email format.

Goodbye Google Project Hosting

Effective today, the BizSense project has moved from http://code.google.com/p/bizsense to http://projects.binaryvibes.co.in/projects/show/bizsense

When the BizSense project started, we wanted to put more effort into writing code than working on project management tools. We found Google Code Project Hosting to be an attractive offer which contained issue tracker, subversion and wiki. In addition to that we had created a group for BizSense at Google groups. The only two features we used were the subversion and issue tracker. We have also deleted the BizSense Google Group.

BizSense Demo Available

In the last post, I mentioned BizSense is available for testing. Even though the development status is in alpha, the software was good enough to install and test on your server. This time we went a step ahead and put across a demo website. You can now have a glimpse of what is being developed right from your browser. All you need to do is, register yourself at BizSnese site and visit the demo information page for instructions to access the demo website.

Binary Vibes BizSense Status Update

We have decided to call our CRM + ERP product - Binary Vibes BizSense. We have now entered pre-alpha stage. You can see the features of the software by installing it on your web server. All you have to do is checkout code from the Subversion repository

svn checkout http://bizsense.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ bizsense

and install it on your web server. The install instructions are in the README file.

The following features will be available in the first release:

  • Sales force automation - leads, quotes, orders
  • Customer information - contacts and accounts

Prototype Code Has Arrived

After discussing and exploring various options we decided to use Google as our project host, for now. Eventually, we will host the project on our own servers in the future. Having a third party to manage the project infrastructure enables us to focus more on development. code.google.com provides version control system, wiki and an issue tracker. We can also use Google Groups for our mailing lists. We are still discussing whether or not to use Google Groups for project mailing lists. We are also yet to decide on whether or not to use the wiki system provided by code.google.com.

New Free And Open Source CRM And ERP Product

After deploying CRM software solutions to few clients we have noticed the need for a new free and open source software. Most available open source CRM and ERP software written in PHP programming language lack several important aspects. We are on a mission to cover them with our new product.

I hear your questions.

What technologies do we use?

  • The web application is being written in PHP programming language
  • We intend to support MySQL and PostgreSQL databases

What is the licensing policy?
